Question & Answer
- The difference between RAM and ROM is :- RAM is not a permanently written, for example, when your power is off your computer the work stored in RAM will be deleted while on the other ROM is a non-volatile memory. The data in ROM is permanently written and will not be erased if you power off the computer.
- The difference between a DVD-ROM and a DVD-RW is:- DVD-RW is a drives that not only have capabilities to read the data on the CDs and DVDs but also can write the data to the disc, for example, CD-R, CD-RW, DVD+R, DVD R, DVD+RW, and DVD-RW. DVD-ROM is a drive that fits into the same PC drives bays as CD-ROM or CD-RW drives.
- USB connectivity provides an expandable, plug-and-play interface that ensures a standard, low economy connection for peripheral devices such as multi-function printers, keyboards, mice, joysticks, printers, digital cameras, storage devices, video conferencing cameras, and numerous other devices. USB has a maximum bandwidth in its basic form of 12 Mbits/sec.
- The primary purpose of a GPU is to handle output to a monitor and GPU can also do video coding and post processing which would take a lot of time without courtesy of GPU. GPU's are designed in such a way that they work best with any application that has thousands of mathematical calculations. Video games are one of them.
- The hard drive is an incredibly efficient computer memory device that uses simple magnetism to store the amount of information. The typical storage size of an average hard drive is IBM 305 RAMAC system including IBM Model 350 disk storage.
- A floppy disk is a media and stores and reads data on the floppy disk. A floppy disk can hold a data of 1.44MB, it needs 711 1.44MB floppy to equal 1 Gigabyte. Floppy disks were the only way to install a new program onto a computer or backup your information, but nowadays floppy disk are so easily damaged. The data on them was frequently loaded even when the disc was still intact with no physical damage.
- In a flash memory device all data can be accessed at around the same speed no matter where on the medium it's located. No matter what was read before, accessing any other spot takes the same time. It uses less power - only electronic circuitry, and usually the fastest. It also has much greater capacity. The disadvantage of a flash memory device are that there is a finite number of times information can be erased and written to the memory and also the cost per megabyte of storage is more than a traditional computer hard drive.
- Fiber optics is faster than copper wire and fiber optics can definitely transfer more data at higher throughput over longer distances than copper wire, but wireless connection is way better than fiber optic and copper wire. Wireless broadband can do more work in less time than Fiber and copper, it’s become an important connection for everyone. Standing waves of UHF radio are used to measure the speed of radio waves, which is then compared with the measured speed of light. It can also measure in power waves.
